A REALISTIC OUTLOOK

Although the national average for obtaining a Private Pilot’s license is much more the required minimum of 40 hours, the commercial rating minimums are usually a realistic estimate. All of our courses are custom tailored to the individual student's needs and experience. There is no fixed course cost. The total cost to achieve your Private, Instrument and Commercial pilot’s licenses with Del Rio Aviation usually varies from $43,695.00 to $52,050.00. Our training is done through Part 61. All students, in both Part 141 and Part 61, must pass the same FAA Written, Oral and Practical exams in order to receive their rating. It is important to note that Part 61 training is not VA-approved, and as such, is not eligible for G.I. Bill reimbursements. For G.I. Bill benefits, students must complete 141 approved training. We are unable to offer 141 training at this time.

Del Rio Aviation is not your typical flight school.

Our top 2 instructors alone have a combined 32 years and nearly 30,000 hours of flight time with experience in almost every facet of helicopter operation. As we are also a commercial operator our experience is your gain. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch, real world, training to not only prepare you to get your rating but to excel in the industry.
